The club have broken down the figures based on scenarios with and without the coronavirus crisis, suggesting that they would have posted a profit of 2m euros had there been no pandemic.
They have calculated the losses in revenue as a result of the pandemic to be 203m euros.
Barcelona closed the year with revenue of 855m euros, below the 1.047bn set in the budget, which had forecast a profit of 11m euros."The final result was after-tax losses of 97m euros, largely as a result of lost revenue due to the effects of the pandemic.
"It is estimated that without COVID-19, revenue of 1.059bn could have been achieved, which would have set a new record for a football club, breaking the 1bn barrier as forecast by the 2015-2021 strategic plan.
"Therefore, if the club had not suffered the effects of COVID-19, it is estimated that the result for the year would have been a profit of 2m euros, rather than the actual loss of 97m euros."
