I think is the best time to sell Gomez for the club and for himself as well. He has no chance to win competition against the like of Olic and Klose here. In fact, he could grow himself into a serious player in Schalke where their formation fits him much more.

Totaly agree that selling Gomez is the best time now that's very trueBut also get a replacement of him .... I personally think that you cannot fight on 3 fronts without an extra striker in the ranks !!
The coach seems content with 22 players... he surely has a plan in mind,
but with the recent injury of Van Buyten his options of experienced players is becomming a little thinner....Not a huge problem though, but it is something good to have..

The problem is that management sees Gomez as an investment, they certainy dont want sell him after just one season. It would be the best, maybe, but I dont think it will happen.
My huge concern is defence, now that Van Buyten is out for quite some time (probably moths) and we seriously cant depend on Demichelis so I think this is the perfect time to bring in a wroldcass CB.

What about Rafa Marquez, he is free agent and a good player. Im sure he is a better option than Demichelis, Bayern can give him a 1-2 year contract. He does know the playing style and seems to be the kind of player Van Gaal would like.

Marquez isnt a bad alternative. Beside, I think on the right defender role, I prefer Demichelis to Van Buyten as his clearance of the ball is much better than Van Buyten; however, his lack of concentration wont be exposed if he is the front man for the two central defender position
Beside, after yesterday's loss to Schalke, I seriously think Bayern needs to enhance our team even though we are only playing through with most of our 2nd tier players. I do think we need a better defensive line in order to win Champion League. Even if with Butt, Lahm and Badstuber back, our defensive line wont be much solider. Beside, if either one gets injuried, we will rely on the defenders who went out against Schalke

You can't take yesterdays game serious. We didn't have Schweinsteiger and Van Bommel in midfield to brake their attacks, we didn't have our skillfull players (Kroos, Muller, Robben, Ribery) to hold the ball long enough in our team. We play ball possesion normally, but yesterday with those players it didn't work. And even with that midfield we created enough chances to win the game!
Pranjic < Robben
Ottl < Van Bommel
Alaba < Schweinsteiger
Mujic < Ribery
Sosa < MullerDefending (in VG his concep) start with the attackers. And as long as we have the ball, they can't score. So it's not just our defence, altough a quality injection wouldn't hurt. But it looks like we won't buy new players (maybe just a new RB to cover Lahm) and they'll wait for a fit Breno

The problem is that wait, can we really rely on Demichelis? Van Gaal needs to analyze this carefully, Van Buyten is out for quite some time and even so he isnt the greatest. This is the best chance to change things up a little, even if its only for 1-2 seasons.
Sadly its true that there will likely be no signings, except for a back up RB (or atleast I hope), but theres still time. Lets wait and see.

It is so sad that Bayern didnt take our opportunities again just like 2001. After we won in Champion League, we didnt build on our squad and let them age and fall apart. In fact, we do build on the team, we could have won another Champion League in 2002 or 2003 just like AC Milan in 2003 and 2007 as well as Barcelona.

Get well soon Robben, with him out then its most ikely that we will see Mueler in the right and Kroos as AM behind Olic. Atleast now both Mueler and Kroos wil play, but its a shame to loss Robben for 2 months. Damn Dutch doctors, they didnt realize the severity of the injury.

Who says Müller automatically will play Robbens position if he is injured? Altintop can also play that position, and if he plays it like the end of last season i can't see why he shouldn't play..

As Charlie said, most likely to be is Muller replacing Robben and Kroos replacing Muller. Altough in the first games it will be Altintop (who trained the most of the time in pre season with the group and didn't arrive later like the internationals) so he has an advantage. This will be one of his greatest chances to show Van Gaal he's competitive enough for a first 11 place. But we have quality enough to cover Robben's absence (Kroos, Altintop, Gomez, Klose)

And yeah Chrisco we do have enough quality to cover Robbens absence, Im glad we have good back up in the midfield, but Im quite concerned about defence.....

It is amazing that we have not bought any player after a successful season. We should add 3-4 players each season. Like how charlievera highlighted that we should have bulit on the success in 2001.
We had a good season but we need to buy 3 more players which i feel could make the diffrence between last season and Champions league glory. Just disapointed that the Bayern board has not forseen that.
Our rivals in Europe have strengthed their squads big time and we want Bayern to win the Champions league soon, we have to invest in a couple of world class players to complete our squad. We got the foundation and some great players. I just feel we need 2 world class centerbacks and a another up coming striker and we are complete.

We have 6 months to see what the results will be and where we need new players (everybody knows it, the board just not yet). Could be that if we don't play well in group stages we'll get new players in January, but I still count on 1 transfer -RB, Don't think that Van Gaal sees Altintop as back up for Lahm- and Gorlitz is since today gone to Ingolstadt
