    what we should worry about , is that when he finally develops into a fine all-around player , that some english and spanish teams would want to steal him away , and bayern wont be able to keep him .... so ... in Kroos' case , i think bayern should renew his contract more than 1.5 years before the contract is due to run out ...

    True, but at the same time, if he becomes worldclass player, he might not want to extend his contract with Bayern, just like Ballack and Hargreaves.


    I hope Bayern can one day afford to financially complete with the big 4 in UK and Barcelona and Real Madrid in Spain. Then, we will succeed and keep our star players and attract others. Bayern and Bundesilga is turning like the 90's Ajax and Dutch League, which produced enormous amount of talents for the past decade, but most stars decide to leave the club when they are around early 20's or latest mid 20's. I think Europe will have only two major leagues after 10 years time - it is Premiership and Spainish one. Italy will be sidelined as it becomes less and less attraction to stars, except recently Ronaldino moved there. Bundesilga will probably have same weight as the ones in Portugal, France, Dutch, Greece, etc... maintain as a regional league, where, each has a dominate team, like Porto, Lyon, PSV (which all are able to win 6-7 domestic titles in a decade)

    Gareth Barry? 22M pounds is far too much for him. that's more then what Manchester paid to us for Owen and he's 3 years older. He has no experience at all in Europe, we could better save our money for a creative player or wait and get Cana on a free transfer (his contract ends in 2009)

    To be honest, even though some of you are great fans of Van Buyten due to his loyalty. But he was playing poorly against even a 3rd division team. He was exposed twice again. Maybe we should really buy a new defensive midfielder as Van Bommel plays poorly in that area and possibilly a central defender. After Demichelis got injuried, Bayern's defence is basically shapeless.

    Van Buyten indeed played badly, no problem to admit that. And a pure DM is something I already say for a long time that we need this. Why we didn't go for Flamini is something we'll never understand.

    chrisco : we did go for Flamini as Hoeness did say, but then we are unable to offer crazy salary package, otherwise, Flamini would hv joined us. But again, I hope we can at least sign 1 more quality player before the end of transfer window

    Not 100% correct. We were interested, but not enough. Klinsmann didn't want him really for 100%, that's why Bayern didn't offer him a huge salary. If Klinsmann should have said: I really want him we would have offered him a nice contract. It's not that we didn't want to do it, it wasn't necessary for Klinsmann

    I think the real reason why Van Buyten dont complain about first team football is because he knows that he isnt any good. The team also suffers alot because Ze Roberto is no defensive midfielder . Since Jeremies was out of the team Bayern havnt found the right replacemen yet, Andreas ottl isnt good enough either. Jeremies was just like Gattuso and he had more skill also.

    Personally think a defensive midfielder is more important than a central defender at the moment, but a central defender is definitely needed. As I said much much earlier, Lucio, Van Buyten and Breno are pretty much the same type of defenders that will would smash when opponents play some quick ball and it can easily kill off all our resistence and one on one on Rensing.


    But again who is available now for central defender?

    Rolfes better then Flamini? yeah right. Isn't there a special school for footballnoobs in your country? Maybe you should visit it, so you can finally understand something from football. And because Flamini isn't your favorite player he should not come? Damn, Van der Vaart is not my favorite player but I would thank God if he should have joined us.


    It's not loving or hating players, it's just performing. Every player I hate may come to Bayern if he perform better then the players we have. It's all about performances, try to understand that

    And Van Der Vaart wasn't so expensive... Damn, we missed to buy him, he would solve our attack problem... maybe he wasn't so expensive because Real Madrid bought him, everybody dreams of playing in that club...

    I guess there aren't going to be new signings at Bayern. What a pity. We'll see how Bayern is going to play with Hamburg, maybe Hamburg will demolish us so Uli Hoeness gets to think that he needs a player or two. :-)
    I mean, I certainly wouldn't like Hamburg to win us, but if that makes Hoeness change his mind... why not, so we wouldn't have to worry about the future, more important matches :-)

    Guys if Real Madrid doesn't sign Klaas Jan Huntelaar this season, I think Bayern should put up to the bid next season, he is really a great striker. What do you guys think? Or should we stick with Mario Gomez next season?

    I mean we should sign Gomez even though I dont think he is much better than our current strikers here, but could be a long term solution for Klose or Toni up front. But again, Bayern's priority is to fix up the defence instead of thinking of any striker. We have no worldclass defensive midfielders- Van Bommel and Ottl are poor. Without Demichelis, our central defence is also shaky. Lucio's performance is very inconsistent and Van Buyten basically doesnt even deserve to play. He should have marked down Guerro on the first attempt. Cant believe he was standing 5 feet away from him and let him score the 2-1. I wish Breno can be the third choice defender instead of Van Buyten, although Breno isnt much better in my view.
