Transfers - suggestions/rumors

  • I am quite certain that Toni would stay until 2011. By then, he would be 34 years old. Thats pretty old for a striker like his type since he needs enourmous amount of energy and use his physcial strength to subpress defenders. He isnt the skillful type like Del Piero or Scholl who can still contribute when they are at their mid-30's. So I doubt that we should even extend his contract by then. Thats also go with Klose.

On Ribery, he definitely is one of the best midfielders or even players on this planet now. We need him. But I think he will move on eventually if we arent able to compete in Champion League these two seasons. Hopefully, Hoeness and management can really sign some top quality player to keep hold of Ribery.

On Olic, I think he has chosen us before Juventus. So thats a good news on transfer front, but Olic isnt a worldclass striker, but he has something that we lack up front, such as speed and dribble.

Do you think we should get Michael Ballack back to replace Van Bommel/Ze Roberto? Although both might eventually decide to stay on for another season, as everybody knows that both players are aging and not getting any younger. Maybe we need a few more players to rotate with them as both players are playing almost every single game this season so far for us as Ottl and Borowski only had a few games in between.

    Dear Friend BBJTIN,

I think you are raising a valid question that probably
    many have entertained.

In my view, ANY young player "if you don't use him,
you will loose him !!". Which means you have to create
room for him on the team to play.
I personally have trust in Borowski and Ottl, as well
as Kroos. Yet if we were to recruit midfielders we must
unload some first because this is the most crowded
    department in the team.

As for good Old mister Ballack ! I wouldn't agree to
bring him back for two reasons. One I don't think his
heart is in it anymore... Second, he never should have
left Bayern in the first place, and he didn't show
enough appreciation for the club !

In my opinion, it is probably best to look ahead for the
future and recruit a midfielder that is under 25 years old.
That would be a sound investment and a safe way
of insuring a smoother transition whenever our veteran
    stars retire.

    Cheers,
    - Sari

ps: by the way, I like how you present a scenario or
a possibility because that is the best way to open up
    a dialogue or a discussion.

  • Thanks. I am putting up some suggestion for everybody to have a chance to discuss and express their personal views.

I think our first priority now is to secure Ribery's contract for longer period of time. His contract would be like a valuable signing for us already. Secondly, I think we need to sort out Van Bommel, Ze Roberto and eventually our defenders' contracts, which all ended at June 2010.

For new signings, as I have mentioned above, Bayern should at least spend 45mil Euros this coming summer (obviously including the winter period as well) to secure top quality signings, if we are able to cash out on Podolski. Obviously, you can get my breakdown of how these 45mil Euros come from above comments.

In terms of new signings, I suggest we could go for Olic which is a top quality player in Bundesilga for free, as he does have something that we are lack of at the moment up front. First, he is left footed where we only had Podolski now but he would be leaving at the end of the summer. Secondly, Olic is very fast and can dribble past defenders which both Toni and Klose are lack of. Another signing that we have to make it to sign Tymoschuck. He will cost around 15mil Euros, but he can strengthen our midfield defensiveness. He can challenege a spot on Van Bommel or Ze Roberto even both remain as Ze Roberto will probably only play for another season at the most with us. Other signing would be a right defender as Oddo is only a temporiary option, Lell is not up to international standard, Sagnol is a long term injury. My suggestion is Rafinha who has enormous amount of potential. His movement with the ball is as good as Lahm, but the only problems are his lack of experience and his weakness in defence. Lastly, it would be interesting to sign Malouda for 8mil pounds. He was worldclass when he was playing for Lyon but performance dipped a lot since arriving in Chelsea. Obviously, it would be nice for Ribery to have another Frenchman at Bayern. Beside, Malouda can always switch sides with Ribery on the field. So Ribery can play on the right and Malouda on the left, but again, during the game, both players can definitely switch sides.

Even with all the above signings, Tymoschuck (15mil Euros); Olic (Free); Rafinha (10mil Euros); Malouda (10mil Euros), we can definitely cope with even in a poor economy downturn. For extra, we could sign talented players like Marin, Gourcuff, Ibisevic, Baumjohann. Those players are all going to cost less than 10mil Euros, except Ibisevic. Sell Podolski for 15mil Euros; let go of Gortilz; loan Sosa and Kroos out for more match practice. We would have a competitive squad for Champion League next season.

  • I really dont think Benzema is that good now. Real Madrid, Man Utd are all chasing him for 40mil Euros or plus. Seriously, I can find similar or even better striker for less than 20mil Euros across Europe. When I saw both games against Lyon, I dont think he is that spectcular compared to worldclass stars, like Ribery, Messi.

Beside, Bayern is planning to sell Ribery at around 60mil Euros. I think if we arent able to extend his contract in the next year, we should sell him. Even though it is unforunate, but 60mil Euros can strengthen our squad furthur in other positions.

bbjtin, this is 100% not true, i bet your source was goal.com this was the source that claimed bayern would swap ribery for malouda and give toni to west ham!

    Remember the quote from Rummeniegge?
“Franck has a contract with us until 30 June 2011. We know what he’s worth to us. He’s an extremely important player. He’s really shaken up the league since returning from injury, and it’s no accident we’ve steadily worked our way up the table since then. We’re proud and happy to have him here at Bayern. We had enquiries for Franck last summer, but we didn’t stop for one second and consider releasing him from his contract – quite the opposite, as we’ll try and have Franck sign an extension in 2009. No amount of money in the world would persuade us to change our opinion.“

Ribery will be at Bayern for life!

  • Hope we bring Tymoschuk, one right-back and one star player, that would be excellent, we would manage to keep Ribery...

    0

  • I am not sure if Ribery will be staying here for life, but if he doesnt want to extend his contract beyond 2011, I think is actually better to sell him next summer than giving him away on a free transfer market. I would rather get 50-60mil Euros and sign a few top players than letting our best player to go in free transfer market.

Olic has signed for Bayern and hopefully, we will be signing Tymoschuk, Rafinha and Malouda in the summer. Extend Ze Roberto's contract. Van Bommel will likely to leave us in the summer as he is not satisfied with the contract term.

  • The player hasnt said yes yet so Bayern still has to wait and see how it turns out. Hoeness said it seems as though he wants to join Bayern. The word "SEEMS" isnt helping me I want to hear YES he is coming or NO he is not.

  • But from my experience, Hoeness is an ultra conservative guy. If he publicly said that a player will join Bayern, it is normally 99% that the player will join.

Olic and Tymoschuk are very certain to join Bayern. Both details should be finalized by the end of January. I hope that Bayern will look ahead at its right defender option as Oddo isnt a long term solution. Sagnol will be out of his career soon. Lell isnt a much reliable option either. Obviously, Altintop can act as a backup, as he probably wont get much action if we are signing a right winger.
