    Porto is 1 time incident. I dont want Bayern to be 1 time incident. I hope that we could compete with the big guns year after year. Runner up to me means nothing much. Winning is what it counts. People dont remember you after a few seasons who are the runner-ups, but only remember winners.


    I hope that we can win Champion League this year or next year b/c Bayern fans have been waiting for a long time to see us again in the Champion League final.

    Rumors are fiction most of the time....
    I have found the website Goal.com to be a very unreliable source,
    whereby even historical facts are tainted....
    Comming back to the latest in transfer rumors...
    IF the story posted on goal.com today is true,
    in which Van Bommel advices Ribery to go to Barcelona because he
    can become a "Ronaldinho" there as it was suggested in
    the article... then I think Van Bommel should be the one to leave
    first as these are irresponsible comments from a captain...


    The recent strains and tensions of the last 2 weeks seem to show that
    Klinsmann lost a little grip on the dressing room, but I
    am sure he will regain it back if he hasn't done so already.
    There is no point of playing Van Bommel for the rest of
    this season if that is his attitude.... Podolski is getting
    "punished" for loyality breaches and so should the captain!


    Talking Transfer suggestions; After watching the French
    Team play yesterday.... where Ribey was outstanding.
    2 players caught my eye: the RB Bakari Sagna (arsenal)
    and the DM Jeremy Toulalan (lyon)....


    Ribery had recomended Toulalan to Bayern on 2 occasions before the winter transfer....
    But his requests fell to deaf ears :(

    I think Sagna would be more useful in Bayern as we are lack of defensive full back. Only Lahm is worldclass now. I dont think Toulalan is that great. To be honest, I watched a number of Lyon's games and I dont find him that talented. Beside, we have players like Van Bommel, Ze Roberto, Borowski in the rank

    Nor Zé Roberto, Van Bommel or Borowski play in the same position as Toulalan or have the same quality as him. Toulalan is top, Sagna too. I also mentioned his name already in the German part.


    Latest rumour is about Gourcuff. Great player, but in which position should he play? He should play as CAM, but we don't have that position here...

    i guess not....it is true that van bommel can be judged on his playing skills, but NOT on his influence among the squad....and influence, determination, ambition are most important qualities for a captain....and Van Bommel is a CAPTAIN!!!

    I would be nice for Van Bommel to stay for another season, but I think if Gourcuff comes as well. I dont think Van Bommel and even Ze Roberto will get a regular spot. But if Gourcuff comes, we might have too many midfielders, unless we are playing to change our formation to 3-5-2 formation.

    For transfer, I think Hoeness is still not doing enough even though we have already captured three new players for next season. Van Bommel and Ze Roberto's contracts are still in doubt, although the chance of securing both contracts would be higher than 50%. Podolski, Kroos (loan), Jansen and possibilly Sosa (loan) have all left us.


    Rummenigge has hinted that he will be looking for a young talented fourth striker and not Donovan. But even with that, the squad is still pretty weak in some areas. We have previously linked with Lazio's duo- Pandev and Zarate; Malouda and Gourcuff. Others that Bayern linked with were kind of insignifcant. I hope Bayern can sign 1-2 worldclass top players like Toni's and Ribery's. Hoeness and Rummenigge had been saying that for some time but nothing has materialized yet, although last year we did try on a several quality players like Gattuso, Pirlo and Hleb.


    I think we could bottom fish the market as we have accumlated around 25mil+ in selling some of the players like Schlaudraff, Jansen, Podolski and Hummels, etc. We have only invested 11mil Euros back on Tymoschuk. So we have definitely had room to invest some more.


    I have a few suggestions and pls. provide useful suggestions if I am missing any:


    Eto from Barcelona (his contract is running out in 2010, so if contract wont extend, Barcelona will let him go for a cheap price since his contract will expire in a year. He is a worldclass striker and at prime age. But we could possibilly sign him for 15mil Euros or less with 1 year left in his contract)


    Walcott from Arsenal (if he is unable to extend his contract, he would be a talented right winger who can compete with Schweinstger on that spot)


    Van Persie and Sagna from Arsenal (both would be willing to leave Arsenal if they cant break into the Champion League next season which they have a high possibility of achieving that. So I think a few key players from Arsenal will be leaving)


    Perrotta from Roma (Although he is in his 30's, he is still playing at top level for Roma. And Roma will be willing to sell him for 5-7mil Euros, so I think he could be a good value buy)

    Reality sometimes is a bitch. I wish Hoeness will change his will because we need forward looking manager to take Bayern to the next level. I am not saying that we should spend like no tomorrow, but again, especially if difficult period, when everybody is suffering, we are suffering less. We should step up the game and grab the market share and reputation back from our counter parties in UK and Spain.

    you omitted to mention that Liverpool and Real Madrid was also involved in the rumuor.....and quite frankly, real madrid is every brazilian forward's dream.....

    Guys did you see Tymoshchuks goal against Vfb Stuttgart... Whaaaatt a gooooaaaalll. I don't see these goals from Van Bommel. Anatoliy will be a good signing, that's for sure...

    I think that Bayern will only need a quality right-back plus maybe a fourth young striker, and that's it... Just hope we keep Ribery...
