Transfers - suggestions/rumors

  • Rensing left on a free transfer, hes not part of Bayern anymore.

And yeah chrisco, ur right, I guess we have 6 months. Lets hope for the best and have faith in our great team.

  • Rensing is unemployed right now and Goritlz went to the 2nd division

I think Bayern needs to sign a top quality central defender, a backup right defender and a top quality striker

  • You don't have to expect a new top CD. They'll wait this season and see how Breno and Badstuber play, if they have enough potential to play together. And if that won't work, they'll buy a new top CD next year.

  • Apparently, Bayern wont sign Dzeko unless we are letting Gomez go, so we probably wont make any signings for the coming season. That is quite sad

  • buying more players wont be on van gaals mind, he has said many times he prefers a 23 man squad, that way everyone has a chance to play,

I still beleive we should be on the look out for a solid defender but at this moment i think building a team with what we have is the most efficient way to do it...

thats how we made it to the finals. teamwork, great chemistry, and fabulous goals from robben and olic... if we conceded less goals it wouldve made our lives alot easier but its just something we need to work on

  • Personally, I have always stressed that Bayern should build onto their success which they havent been doing for the past decade (success period in 01, 04-06, 07 and possibilly now again)

I dont agree of buying 4-5 new players every single season, but I do see we need 2-3 enhancement every summer in order to keep the squad fresh and competitive.

On the positive side, Mueller just extended his contract to 2015, so which means that players like Ribery, Mueller, and Robben will be with us for 4-5 more years. On the negative side, if we continue to go like this strategy, we probably get to win Champion League anytime soon

  • Bayern has to atleast buy a back up RB for Lahm, its a shame that management doesnt see the importance and neccessity of 1-2 high profie signings. Lets hope for the best and have faith in our team, hopefuly Breno will be the revelation we all have been waiting for.

Heres the probable line up for this Saturdays game against Schalke (Super Cup):

    ---------------------------------------Jörg Butt-------------------------------------
Philipp Lahm - Martin Demichelis - Holger Badstuber - Diego Contento
Thomas Müller - Bastian Schweinsteiger - Danjiel Pranjic - Deniz Mujic
    ------------------------------Ivica Olic - Miroslav Klose---------------------------

"The boss has opted to take a 15-strong squad to Augsburg, including World Cup stars Badstuber, Jörg Butt, Philipp Lahm, Thomas Müller, Bastian Schweinsteiger and Miroslav Klose, all of whom only resumed training last Monday. The remaining players will continue training at the Säbener Strasse."

  • I think Bayern is a bit closer (less competitive) against its rivalaries in Bundesilga this season than last, because we are unable to refill talents. Hopefully, the board can pull another surprise by signing 1-2 worldclass stars before the end of the transfer window, just like last season with Robben

  • Great performance from Bayern, Kraft was impressive and our attack was not exact in the first half, but on the second it improved drastically. Klose was good and Olic played great (nice assist for Kloses goal).

This is what happens when Schalke face an almost complete Bayern :)

  • I watched the entire match and here is my analysis:

    Positive:
1).Klose has recovered his old form and his movement is definitely much better than the previous year.
2).Kraft is also another bright spot at the back.
3).Lahm, Schweinsteiger, Mueller, Olic and Contento are still able to keep up previous year's momentum

    Negative:
1).Our central defenders- Demichelis and Badstuber, are really up to Europe elite standard. Even with the including of Van Buyten and Breno, I personally think they are our weakest link
2).Our backup players arent really for the task even against the weakening Schalke- Altintop and Pranjic
3).Sosa and Ottl should definitely be sold because both of them arent worth playing for Bayern at this form

  • Pranjic played not that bad, he's someone you can rely on (as a back up, not more than that). Altintop played bad.

About our defense: Badstuber played a good game, even Demichelis wasn't that bad.

  • I dont agree that both Badstuber and Demichelis played just medicore, but again, Schalke didnt create much chance anyways and Demichelis had already had two miss passes in the first half although Schalke didnt take advantage

  • Badstuber is trainig for just 1 week, trained 1 time together with the Not-WC-participants. And if you imagine that Schalke is already training for couple of weeks, he did a good job.

And demichelis was not bad in defense, didn't talk about his harakiri passing

  • I dont believe that is an excuse because that is the same case to Schweinsteiger, Lahm, Mueller and Klose as well. Personally, I always thought Badstuber is a great talent, but he isnt like Mueller who is already a worldclass player.
