Yes, sometimes is hard to judge young players right? Still remembered Rau who made himself into one german international player with Wolfsburg but was useless at Bayern and now became student; Rensing who claimed to be Kahn's replacement and now became unemployed at the age of 25 years old; and Lell who Hitzfeld claimed should be nominated into the german national team after his impressive season with us in 07/08 on the right side and became one of the worst performaning players within our squad and now transferred to Hertha Berlin at the age of 25 years old.

So we need to watch out those flips. These are just a few examples. But again, I want to stress that we do need more quality in the near term. What Arsenal doing isnt right? Only building on youths. We should sign quality worldclass stars to guide those young players.

A balance is needed, young players need role models and experienced players to learn from. I think we have that with Bayern currently, but of course some extra worldclass, specially in defence, wouldnt hurt

I think a balance is very important. We can rely on youths just like Arsenal, bringing in a bunch of talented teenagers. Yes, they are managed to get into the top four finish for the past decade, but again, they lack the final touch. We dont want to follow that example.

In fact, Barcelona has a vy good and solid youth system where their youths are able to play in their first team, but they also bring in worldclass player every season depends on where their weakness is, like Villa this season.

That's what we have too. Butt, Van Buyten and Van Bommel as seniors of the team (Klose too), players like Schweinsteiger and Lahm who despite their age have already experienced everything, some valuable players like Pranjic, Olic and Tymoschuk who now know the team and the country and 2 worldstars with some talents who complete the team. This is a great squad, altough a bit more quality in defense wouldn't be too much luxury.

In order to be the best teams in Europe, I think we are missing a few worldclass players. Personally, I think we have enough talented individuals, such as Kraft, Jullich, Badstuber, Contento, Breno, Alaba and Kroos who all yet to prove themselves at Bayern.

I think we need a worldclass central defender to partner with either talents like Badstuber or Breno, a worldclass goalkeeper although Butt is still very reliable so far, a worldclass central midfield to partner up with Schweinsteiger as I dont recall Van Bommel as good as worldclass like Xavi or any of them, and a reliable high profile striker which all Klose, Gomez and Olic arent.

After all these four signings, we would be among the best in Europe if not the best given our young development coming through

it was a friendly,no matters what has happened..when the goin' gets tough, remember Milito last year...do you really think to play another CL with VanBuyten, Badstuber,Contento and Demichelis?? Did you see Micho in World championship? I was crying..

Either way it wont be the same, Badstuber will be CB, not LB. Contento will play as LB. Im sure Demichelis will be benched and that Van Buyten will partner up with Badstuber.

The reality is clear, there will probably not be any new signing. The best would be to sign a wordclass CB, but management is reluctant of doing so.

Oh and in midfield, well Van Gaal plans to use Alaba as Van Bommels replacement, he actually didnt want to sign Khedira so Bayern let him go to Madrid.

Worldclass is neccessary, but we must come to realize that our management doesnt see it that way. A balance is needed, but as chrisco pointed out, there is already a balance in Bayern. Our management and coach r putting their faith in our youth and so should we.

I agree with you Charlievera that Balance is very imporant but i still feel Bayern should sign 1 world class player for every new season just to give to good competion for the starting 11.

Why i feel a world class defender is very important is becuase of our defence is not very stable and if we have a new world class defender along with Lahm, there is only 2 more spots open for the first 11, thus the other defenders have to work hard and play well when they are given the chances.

Personally I would love to see a worldclass CB signed, I think we desperately need one. The thing is that I think management will take the risk (use Van Buyten and Demichelis) and wait for Breno. Hope this decison doesnt cost us too much, lets hope for the best and keep supporting our so beloved team.

Hoeness is still looking for a left defender. The idea of that is wrong. I think Contento did have the potential to become one of the best in that area. In fact, our weakest point is central defense where none of the four central defenders are really worldclass- Van Buyten, Demichelis, Breno or Badstuber.

bbjtin : I agree, Van Gaal has placed his trust on Contento and so should the board and us the fans. The chemistry he has with Ribery ion the left flank is remarkable and anyone can clearly see that with regular playing time he can become one of the best.

On Hoeness comment on transfer market, he clearly sees the potential of Bayern downfall this season without new transfer. But I dont think he got the point because we need enhancement in central midfield, central defense and a high profile striker as well.

Beside, rumor is saying that Bayern is interested in Chelsea's young striker. I think this should be our concern because we have plenty of talents in our squad. In fact, what we really need is the quality of worldclass players.

In order to compete in Champion League, Bayern needs to sign a worldclass central defender, a left defender (after seeing Bayern's 1st German Cup match), a worldclass central midfielder (to replace Van Bommel) and a high profile striker to balance out with Klose.

I still hope that next year we will see Neuer join Bayern and hopefully see a 4-4-2 with just one defensive midfelder (Schweini) and see Kroos play almost every game this season because I think he has a huge potential and he can turn into a better player than Effe was in that position.

We will probably see no major changes in the squad, the same goes with departures. No one really wants to go, besides that the market at the moment is not the right one. We have certain players we dont need, but management wont sell unless its for the right price. All we can do is have faith in the current squad and hope for the best, Im sure they will keep on making us all proud.

Even though we have won the past few matches against our major rivals in Bundesilga, I am still worried that Bayern doesnt have the team to win Champion League yet.

After being degraded to subs, Demichelis wants to leave Bayern. Thats a problem because Van Buyten has shown that he is too slow at many occasions. I think Bayern needs to sign a quality central defender instead of a left defender.

Beside, any problem is our goalkeeper, Butt. He has the ability to block most of the shots. However, his weakest point is his clearance. If Bayern is underattack (less so in Bundesilga), Butt needs to kick the ball over the half court. His kicks and throws arent strong enough to clear the ball over mid way line. If we are an attacking team, that is fine. However, when we are trying to defend, that will be a problem for us

With what van Buyten showed yesterday and Micho wanting to "leave" after becoming a sub we have to sign a new top cb. We can't use Tymo as cb until Breno is ready to play, that would be very foolish and risky play from our board. But let's see if the situation settles or Micho will leave..

I want to stress that we need a worldclass central defender to guide both Badstuber and Breno. Even though both young defenders have the talent, you need some worldclass central defenders to teach them a few tricks. Beside, I have seen too many talented individuals fell through the ranks through decades, so I wont just depend on two of them.

Demichelis and Van Buyten are hopeless. They are already hitting their later stage in their careers. Improvement for them would be very difficult and only could hope for them not getting worse- (Seems to me that Van Buyten's physical is worse than last season's). Van Buyten's problem are his lack of speed and his weakness in positioning against better opponents. And that will always be a problem at Bayern because for most of our games, we would be the attacking and controlling side. On the other hand, Demichelis has a bit better speed and tackling skill than Van Buyten. However, his lack of concentration has shown on many many occasions in the past few seasons as well as in the past WC. For a decisive match, having Demichelis on a bad day would be a diseater like Arg vs Germany match.
