Champions League

  • Hello Wisita!

I think one thing behind Ribery’s extension might be that for example Real started to think him as a bit risky investment: injuries, problems in private life etc. Also Robben’s remark that in Real he would be just one among many other superstars might have influenced Ribery. Ribery has also realized that Bayern is really committed to improve the team and that Bayern is not so far away from likes of Chelcea, Barca etc. Success in the CL. Realizing that Bayern is really very caring club. When Babbel left for Liverpool in 2000 he said that among the top clubs in Europe Bayern is the most humane and as an example referred to the case of Alan McInally. Some of your might be familiar with Alan’s tragedy. And, of course, money!

  • Hopefully, we can win a title in Champion League within the next 2 years. I want Bayern to catch up with AC Milan and Liverpool in the Champion League historical standing, although it will be tough for us to catch Real Madrid in anytime soon. Look to me that Liverpool and AC Milan wont be winning a Champion League title anytime soon, so hopefully, we could make up ground in the meantime.

We definitely shouldnt win the match against Inter, but we could win it too if Mueller managed to score that goal on 1on1 situation against Cesar.

  • Cash is always a good incentive :D I think Ribery will earn 8.5 a season, becoming the highest paid player of the team in all history.

Big Mac, his knee injury was a real shame and hhis loyalty to Bayern was admirable

  • We have a great squad and we can win the CL. Lets have faith that we can go far, I am impressed with our squad and see certain key changes that must be done before its perfect. Our defence is our weakness and thats what we must clearly improve. A striker would be nice, someone who we can count on defining a game.

  • I think Ribery can earn up to 10mil Euros if he is able to play an injury-free season.

Anyways, I think Bayern needs to boost central defense and get a high profile striker, then, we could challenege Champion League next season

  • mmmh...interesting jkuusela..and i agree with you 100%...i think all that may have affected in ribery's extension...and also because there was a huge change in the team comparing to klumsy's season :P, i mean...between klumsy's mess and bench warming in real....for sb like ribery...real was it...

and yes bbjtin... i think he will be able to get even greatest incomes if he can stay without injuries...but...i trust bayern medical team... its truly superior to other teams...just watch robben!!! in real he was always injured..here..just a couple of times and then always fit which is a total succes for sb like him...

  • Actually our head medic s treating Bono fromm U2 right now :D

Bono is under the care of Dr Hans-Wilhelm Muller-Wohlfahrt, a world-renowned sports injury specialist who is the club doctor at Bayern Munich. He is also being treated by leading German neuro-surgeon Professor Dr Jeorg Tonn.

Ribery found a family in Bayern, a team that will support him, fight for him and be at his side. His commitment to the team is a great sign that Bayern wants more and will go for the glory. We need to be smart on transfers and sign what we exactly need. A RB (Bosingwa), CB (Vidic/Chiellini) MD (Diarra/Mbia) and ST (Dzeko). With that our squad will be ready to cpmpete with anyone, Go Bayern!!!!!

  • I think we will see a good old Ribery again in the next season if he just would remain injury free. I mean, I think it is not preposterous to claim that we were very close to lose him and that, from time to time, his heart was already in Spain.
By to way, Wisita, I thought also that Lucio’s gesture after the game was very touching. I am not too macho to say that I kind of miss him. :)

  • yeah..hopefully there will be a change of attitude in him as well..as he was in his very first season :)

ow yeah...Lucio doing that was amazing.. it seems bayern really stays in the heart of the players..

  • I was so frustrated when both goals went in, biting my nails throughout the match. Felt so sorry for Robben, working on his own all the match. If only Ribery was there. But i am so proud. The most exciting season I have known, with the domestic double and CL runners up. I will get my new stripy shirt and wear it without shame everywhere.

Afterwards We had champagne with a barbeque outside on a fine summer evening. Happy despite the anti-climax.

Aufwidersehen Bayern du stern des sudens, bis zur nechste mal.

  • It is a pity that we didnt win the final, although Van Gaal and Hoeness are saying that within 2 years, we are aiming to win the Champion League in Munich. Personally, I think it will be quite tough to get to the final again next season even though we might have enforce our squad, because we was lucky to avoid Real Madrid, Barcelona, Inter and Chelsea along our way; otherwise, we could get knocked out much earlier.

Defence is a must for the season as we have had a weak defensive line for the past 5-6 seasons in Champion League. We would be out of the competition much earlier without Robben. We lost 4 goals against both Fiorentina and Man Utd. In normal circumstances, we would be out of the competition by far. So our first intention is to improve our defence. Lets aim to sign a worldclass central defender and possibilly some backup players such as a 2nd goalkeeper and a 2nd right defender

  • I drowned the pain in 3 liters of beer :D Anyways Im sure we can win the CL, true we were lucky to avoid big teams, but with the changes we will do our squad during trasfer season we will be ready. Our defence is our weakness and that must be the priority, I have faith Bayern can win the CL within 2 years and that we will be able to beat Barcelona, Chelsea and all the other big teams out there.

  • Yep - We gave a good account of ourselves, we played well & were unlucky. It's been a fantastic season and one to grow from. We knew Inter would sit and defend and play anti-football. It did show us up at the back again though, Demichelis falt for the first goal, poor defending by Van Buyten for teh second although, Molito's finish was superb.

  • It will be tough to get to next years final, but quarters / semi's should be achieved & the year after I do think we can launch a serious attack on the CL title with our young coming through & some investment in to the squad. If we were to add two strong CB's we are just about there a side VB getting to the stage he will retire.

  • Van Bommels retirement will open a winfow for plenty of new options, Im sure we can reach the final again quite soon. The tam has to be improved without a doubt, specially on the back. My gongratulaitons to all the team and all the fans, great season, one to be proud of.

  • I heard about this, but at the most what could happen is that Inter losses its national tittles. I even discussed this with Italians, a lot of them feel that nothing will happen, too much on the risk if Inter is stripped from the CL tittle.

Hopefully justice will be made, but that doesnt happen mostly.
