Champions League

    In one of the strangest matches Bayern won with resolute and discipline.. and some luck too :)
    When Bayern played with a sense of urgency after conceeding the 1st goal lady luck smiled upon them and good things happened... But when they were complacent they got punished for it.


    I only have 2 comments


    * The players that impressed me most were Hamit, Pranjic and Ottl too.
    They fought for every ball and ran around the field. Super Mario has to try to learn to be less selfish... It is not necessary that he personaly has to get the goal... if a teammate is in a better position why not pass to him... It is not an individual competition to see who scores the most. It is a team game. But I truly understand the pressures mounted on this guy's back of being a top scorer !


    * Louis has made his game plan a little more simple and has given a little more freedom to some role players (like Kroos). I hope he continues to do so... by simplifying the game more, and giving more freedom of movement than specific tasks to his wingers and attacking midfielders... By the way, I liked the passing accuracy alot.

    With this kind of display, we cant win Champion League. We could be in the quarter-final again. For current form, if we go against Real Madrid, Chelsea, Inter, Arsenal or Barcelona, we will definitely lose out. But if we could improve our squad during winter period, then it will be a different game

    Unless during the winter break Bayern sign players like Neuer, Hummels, Sahin and Dzeko there is no way I see us getting past Real Madrid, Barcelona, Chelsea, Arsenal, ManU or Inter especially since Robben and Ribery are on and off at random times.

    now I think this would be the Bayern 11 to win the UCL... if some proper money are invested in the team... and if a world class player is not found to replace Contento


    Unfortunately the management doesn't want to spend money and there are so many weak spots in the squad

    I dont believe we would be signing Neuer until the end of the season, as there is nothing too wrong with Butt in goal so far this season. For Hummels, I think he has plenty of talents, but seriously, he isnt worldclass either at Dortmund. I prefer us giving Breno and Tymoshchuk a chance first at partner with Badstuber. But it doesnt mean that we wont be signing a central defender. I want us to sell Van Buyten or Demichelis or even both and sign a top quality experience central defender so that we have space for Hummels next season or in a season or two. Secondly, I might want us to sign a top quality right/left defender- there are plenty of players that we have been monitoring, but we need to act on it. Contento and Pranjic are great, but they arent there at the top level. Thirdly, Dzeko's transfer will probably have to wait until the summer, so I think we will live with our current striker for now. Forthly, I think we should sign another central midfielder who can boss our midfield along with Schweinsteiger. Sahin is a great addition, but I doubt he will join us from Dortmund during the winter period

    @ bbjtin - I agree, i think we'll see most of the transfers in the summer, the downside to that is that if Robben and Ribery have more accidents the team will be eliminated fast in UCL. We're not likely to have enough creativity to catch up to the top3 spots in the Bundesliga because van Buyten and Demichelis are a guarantee to other teams scoring against Bayern 1-2 goals per game.

    Dont know much about those two players. I know I'll no doubt get flamed for this one :D but why don't we have a look at Mertesacker. He partners Badstubber very well at the heart of defense for our country.


    We could really do with the likes of Dzeko and do hope if he does arrive that he takes the step up unlike previous big named domestic player like Poldi & Gomez.

    I don't know a thing about Rami or Tremoulinas... all I hope is that they're faaaar better than Pranjic and Braafheid 'cause the team needs some world class players at the back

    It was quite lucky that Clji didnt take their chances well as well as Butt's superb performance. But again, I think our central defense is where the problem is especially during freekicks and corners. I really hope that Bayern can at least sign two defenders this winter period- 1 central defender and 1 left defender

    Butt was the best part of the show tonight, i would say one of his best games. he is always fine, but tonight he was outstanding.

    To me, out of all the 11 on field Bayern players, only Schweinsteiger, Gomez, Butt and Altintop played well. The others are really just making up the numbers. Mueller came in for 15 mins and was lively. I dont understand why Van Gaal is playing Kroos instead of Mueller as Kroos has been really terrible on the field for the past 3 months at Bayern so far.

    For all that Kroos moaned about being sidelined and then loaned out to Leverkusen he is doing himself no favours at the moment other than being young which seems to score high In LVG's eye's.


    Schweini has been our rock this year, consistantly good !!

    Exactly if Kroos wants to play when he comes back to Bayern, he needs to perform. He cant play like he was in Leverkusen where he played well for only half a season. Thats not good enough here. He needs to be a consistent performer like Mueller and Schweinsteiger to deserve a starting spot. Otherwise, he should play as a super subsitutue like Pranjic or Olic

    It is no point to bring in extra keeper. In fact, I think we should play some of our reserve players like Breno and Demichelis in central defense. Contento on left defense etc. Roma is not so important compared to some of the matches in Bundesilga right now.

    and nice finish by GOMEZ....


    On a different note I have rarely seen a referee worse than this one, with the way Roma are fouling in the first half.....

    Bayern leaded by 2 goals through Gomez's brace in half time. Hopefully, we wont go to sleep again for 15-20mins in 2nd. Otherwise, we should claim this victory. I dont understand why we are performing well as a team in Champion League whereas in Bundesilga, we tend to be wondering around on the field

    I am right again as Bayern slipped their advantage to 3-2 against Roma. All our defensive players are basically playing really poorly in the 2nd half as well as both defensive midfielders. It is a shame on how we turned a 2-0 lead in the first half to 3-2 in 2nd.


    Bayern definitely should consider improving our defense in the winter period and the board should also consider firing Van Gaal
