Bundesliga 2011-'12

    Basically, Bayern is trying to play Barcelona alike football which major players are demanded to control ball possession for most of the match. However, Bayern is a different team and has different culture and history.


    The fundamental lies in two areas:
    1). Bayern's current players are unable to do the same passing as Barcelona does. Bayern players only pass the ball sideway and backward whereas Barcelona does that as well but they will end up with a shot or an attack attempt on the back of that
    2). Bayern doesnt have the Messi alike who can dribble through 2-3 defenders and make space for other players. Neither Mueller or Robben is that type of players. Both players need space to get through opponents by using their speed


    What Bayern should do is to adopt Dortmund or German national team strategy where success is built on stable defense, meaning that since both Lahm and Rafinha arent actually making much crosses for Bayern, at least meaningful crosses. Both should stay behind or at least aline with the two central defenders to form a stable four men defensive line.


    If opponents lose the ball or fail to attempt scoring against us, our central defenders, like Boateng, Rafinha, Lahm or even Schweinsteiger should play a direct ball forward and even using long ball. Having the like of Mueller, Ribery, and Robben, we can easily break through any defensive line with speed and create space for players like Gomez and Kroos as both players are much better with spaces.

    i think bayern s tactics when attacking foward is basically to use the flanks, these often include overlappings by lahm and rafinha, when there`s enough space our wingers will try a shot or pass/ cross the ball to the box.... i think the only thing we need is to try shooting more FROM EVERYWHERE not just from inside the damn box except robben with his "trick"... basically we just need to shoot from everywhere and shoot more often, and in cases where our opponents are stubborn with putting 10 defenders in the STUPID box, we just have to score a goal early in the match and play their game just sit there and DEFEND with 10 ourselves and attack THEM on the break... then we`ll see who`s the stupid champion getting points with only 3 shots on goal in 90 minutes lol >:-|

    Bayern basically need to pick up the speed. Look at how Kroos and Gotze had played in their national team. Kroos benefits from the space upfield. If our attack moves are so slow, we are bound to go against 10 men defense. Therefore, we need to form our attack move quick, so that opponents are unable to get back to their own half in time.

    Question: We all know Heynkes loves Kroos, But when Robbery is fit will Kroos or Muller take the hole behind Gomez?

    I think Ribery, Robben and Mueller can play every single game this season, so having Kroos as rotation is fine. But the problem lies in Bayern's attack system, as neither Kroos nor Mueller can dribble through a tight defensive team

    i think it will depend on the style of play bayern adopt... having robben & ribery both fit will surely make them as starters, so there will be no space for muller on the flanks ,i think it will depend on the formation if we play with a 4-2-3-1 the 3 holding midfielders will either be schweini & gustavo / tymoschuk OR kroos, but its likely that gustavo or tymoschuk will play ther ewith schweini....


    then in the attacking midfielders roles will be either ribery-muller-robben or kroos instead of muller, so basically kroos and muller playing as starters depends on gustavo and tymoschuk s performances and tactics, its likely that both of them will play together when either robben or ribery are out...

    If I have to pick, yes. Mueller is much better than Kroos in attack and the ability to score. Over the past two seasons, Mueller has scored 19 goals per season for us and how about Kroos?


    I just want to say that Mueller definitely deserves a starting role at Bayern and also in German national team anytime. Kroos will share a regular berth with either Robben or Ribery as both players are injuried often so probably wont be able to play very often as the season prolongs.

    agree with you bbjtin, however we must mention that when kroos is in his good form he`s quite impressive such as his times at leverkusen, but unfortunatelly i havent seen him play like he used to play for tem

    Robben again out vs Wolfsburg..Rob or Rib are always injuried ..we can't go on in this way every year..sell them!!

    Bayern was lucky enough to not lose the goal as the goal was clearly onside. What I find is that over the past 135mins in Bundesilga open, Bayern didnt create much chance despite Gomez has a header hitting the footwork once during Gladbach.


    If you look the entire match against Wolfsburg, Bayern didnt create a single clear chance. Thats where the problem is

    no shots on target , no chance of goal..one regular goal "deleted" to Wolfs..Ribery made only confusion , can't believe this is Bayern

    Exactly. Although we have won at the end, we were quite lucky to win this game. I guess everybody has to agree. None of our players played too well so far this season. Gustavo, Badstuber, Neuer and Boateng has been quite outstanding this match. Otherwise, every single other players are below par.

    I think even if Robben is here, it didnt help much. Remembered against Gladbach? I think Heynckes just need to play the old attack line with Ribery, Mueller and Robben instead of Kroos there.
