management , management and again management.
with ottmar we had a deadly left flank. with ribery and lahm we killed almost all defenses. now we can do just that, and there's also roben on the right who can do better than schweini who is in a descending form but he might get a place in central midfield.

i personally don't think van Gaal is the main responsible for this story. The percentages in my opinion would be 45% board of directors, 35% van Gaal, 20% team.
Not VG sold Lucio and Ze Roberto, not VG bought Tymo, Gomez and kept van Bomel and all of them have a sinuous form.

VG is gulity for bringing Braafheit and promoting Badsturber, and is guilty for not making the most of what he have...although it's not much. Too many physical players and too few who knows how to touch the ball. Even Schweinsteiger has lost his flair.

the next CL matches will show what character and what form do we have. To be honest, from the start I thought Bordeaux are a tougher nut to crack than Juve, despite not having so many big names...and now I stay with the same opinion.

let's not overreact... ribery and roben are not players to sell or not to buy. even if they have glass legs we could use all the technique and vision we can get. such kind of players and with a plus of robustness are much more expensive and we shouldn't put it that way. We all saw what is Bayern capable of with those 2 on the pitch, and hopefully we will see it again.

I agree with diesel...at the second yellow for Muller he could easily get the straight red card. And, as I wrote before, it hurt more than the 4-0 with werder and other disastrous results that we've encountered.

When we loose, I'm disappointed, but in that night I was angry. Ironman do you know the statistics of that match? 1 shot on goal, 1 shot wide and 1 shot blocked !!!!!! Does it look like Bayern???
If you missed that, let me refresh your memory :

Let's try not to hide behind the finger...

I thought I'm the only one nervous as hell after that performance.
I must admit I hate Klinsman but I agree with sari , this was way worse than Klinsman era....incredible how we gave away mister Jupp and Ottmar for not playing modern football...AT LEAST THEY WERE PLAYING SOMETHING!!
And now we have to face Leverkusen under Jupp helm damn...I'm sick of it. We are acting like amateur football

I agree with you wisita. Van Gaal did a lot of good things but that's what I don't understand. He try to reinvent hot water...like we say....by putting players in awkward positions, like Ribery in central midfield, now Olic on the flanks...it doesn't surprise me if I'll see Lahm replacing Gomez :)

This result could be turned in our favor. The thing that bothers me much is Roben's injury. We all saw that we are unbalanced without him. Olic was far worse on this position.
And as you said, Muler was a bit of a lost bet even if he didn't played too bad, but I think he is not capable yet to keep a high pace over many important matches

no game is the same with the other so I think we will do better with Juve or Bordeaux.

Although they are harder opponents we might do better with them than with Haifa, judging by the game of course, not by result...cause it's hard to believe a 3 nil with them :)

I don't think we will receive any goal with Haifa, I'll go for a 2-0 for Bayern.

We need to win this group. After all we are a top class team who want to win CL. We can't hide behind the finger forever. WE NEED TO BEAT JUVENTUS, not lamenting so much about it. We have what it takes to just do that.

I'm not speaking about the stadium itself. The atmosphere is far better you must admit. The chanting, the devotion, the thing that all stadium get involved in supporting the team. The problem with Alianz is that many of the fans are coming just to eat a pretzel, give some applause and watch the game.

    deisel
you were lucky. Me, I have to travel 1500km and I can't do this often.
But with all do respect for Bayern, I think if I don't go to a match on Anfield, I didn't see anything about football in this life. This is my ultimate goal about football , but Liverpool is so far away :(

    fcbals

everywhere is the same. You could not get fcb tickets from haiffa duuuh.
When FCB was in Bucharest last season I preferred to sit back and watch TV that going on Steaua's fan zone. Anyway, I rather go to Alianz Arena to watch a FCB game, the atmosphere is completely breathtaking. I was there for FCB-Bolton in Uefa cup.

yohanes is quite special species on this forum. I think he visited Nostradamus lately.
The thing is it will be a big clash with Juve, and I hope will get at least 3 points from the double meeting. With Bordeaux will be a very tactical match, these are the matches where the unpredictable could happen and we have to stay firm on our feet. With Haiffa if we don't take 6 points we don't deserve to be in CL.

    yes, yes NO
we need to cover the RB spot...let lahm back home and hire a decent one!
-------------------------------------------------------

true, and now with Lucio's departure we have another problem. One DC role is up for grabs.

we really like to talk about transfers but in fact, Bayern never was the club who liked to throw his money on the players. The truth is Bayern should open his wallet wider to achieve a team that could win CL.
-------------------------------------------------------

That's true. If they ever again want to do well in CL, they just have to be ready to invest in good players. That doesn't mean buying world-class, already proven stars, but buying players that are good enough to bring Bayern further, and doing that every year and not just once in four years after ending up playing in UEFA-Cup.

-------------------------------------------------------

Exactly...just like Arsenal. They didn't excelled in Europe but you could see the quality of those youngsters from the distance.

We have problems in every area of the pitch and even on the bench. We need a coach, a keeper, a defender, a midfielder and a striker.
    1. the coach - Otmar had a lot less and achieved a lot more,(won the championship way before end) so the change of the coach is quite natural.
-------------------------------------------------------

Hizfeld did more with less? You are kidding me, right? We are playing with exactly the same team as a year before, with the exeption that we don't have Kahn any more (Subs like Boro and Oddo, who are never playing, don't really count, now do they?). And the only place where Hitzfeld did more was in Germany. In Europe (UEFA-Cup, against the likes of Braga, Getafe and ST. Petersburg, mind you, not Barca, Fiorentina, Lyon and Sporting in CL) we did way worse than this year. In Germany, it only worked better, because nobody had played against RIbéry before.
-------------------------------------------------------

Like I've seen in other posts...I don't know whether you like Klinsman or dislike Hitzfeld, or both :) . The truth is we need a coach who can play like Hitzfeld in championship and like Klinsman in CL ( talking about the results, not the game).

    4. the midfielder - Should be a central or central-right player who has great technical skills and great agility.(the most expensive player)
-------------------------------------------------------

exactly, plus he HAS to be a player who is able and willing to work for the team and doesn't just want to show his own brilliance in every game.
-------------------------------------------------------

Sadly that's exact what Ribery does sometimes. Maybe the fact that no other player has his technical skills pushes him to do just that, and that is costly sometimes.

    Zitat:
5.the striker - again, it's a shame that Bayern had no player viable enough to deputize near Toni with Schalke, so a cold blooded striker it's a must!
-------------------------------------------------------

They are getting Olic, which is a good thing, but getting a fourth striker (apart from Müller) would also be a smart thing to do.
-------------------------------------------------------

It's very hard to have 4 strikers. You need to manage a rotation system in which most of the times you end up with no one contented with your decision (as a coach). So the compromise is to get a not-so-good striker who is happy to play 2,3 matches all season.

we really like to talk about transfers but in fact, Bayern never was the club who liked to throw his money on the players. The truth is Bayern should open his wallet wider to achieve a team that could win CL.
We have problems in every area of the pitch and even on the bench. We need a coach, a keeper, a defender, a midfielder and a striker.
    1. the coach - Otmar had a lot less and achieved a lot more,(won the championship way before end) so the change of the coach is quite natural.
    2. the keeper - rensing had failed to raise to the expectation and he received too much credit comparing to what he achieved for the club. and Butt it's not the keeper that was before.
3.the defender - the RB of course. A team like Bayern couldn't afford to not have AT LEAST one top class defender on the right wing especially now when football is played on the wings.
    4. the midfielder - Should be a central or central-right player who has great technical skills and great agility.(the most expensive player)
5.the striker - again, it's a shame that Bayern had no player viable enough to deputize near Toni with Schalke, so a cold blooded striker it's a must!

There are some things that I could not imagine seeing at Bayern. It's a shame, let's hope Tymosciuk and Olic will make a good figure and we would manage to hold Ribery from all those hunters that like throwing with money off the window

Gattuso would be great. But if so, we'll have two killers in the middle of the pitch, adding Van Bommel to the equation. :)

Hargreaves was definitely a loss, the guy is still playing well at M.U

I think we still lack a creative central midfielder cause we don't have any. Schweiny who could play in the center it's not the player from two seasons ago, and I don't know why.
